The parish of Calonge has begun work on installing protective nets on the bell tower with the aim of preventing pigeons from accessing and nesting inside the structure.
This action will reduce the effects caused by the continued presence of these birds, especially the accumulation of excrement and the progressive deterioration of architectural elements, thus contributing to better conservation of the bell tower and the church's heritage complex.
The work, carried out with criteria that respect the building and its historical value, is part of the ordinary maintenance and preservation tasks of one of the most emblematic elements of the town of Calonge.
The action will also help improve the cleaning and safety conditions of the space, guaranteeing its protection for the future.
